Privacy Policy
What Compads collects, why, and where it goes.
Last updated: July 2026. Applies to Compads, a product of Social Intelligence Labs.
What we collect
When you file a complaint through Compads, we collect:
- Your name and email address. You enter these in the Monitor tab filer form. They appear on every complaint you choose to submit to the New York Attorney General.
- Ad records you act on. When you approve a complaint, we store a copy of the ad record (advertiser name, creative URL, ad URL, detection findings) alongside your complaint payload in Vercel Blob storage.
- Subscription and billing information. If you subscribe to Compads Pro or Pro Auto, Stripe collects your payment details directly. We receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription status; we do not store card numbers.
- Email alerts. If you enable competitor-ad alerts, we store your email and the advertisers you track so we can notify you of newly flagged ads. Every alert email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Usage, analytics & advertising data.We use first-party Vercel Web Analytics (cookieless, aggregate) on every page. If you accept cookies in our consent banner, we also load the Meta Pixel and Google tag / Google Ads conversion tracking, which set their own cookies and let us measure and attribute ad campaigns. We capture campaign parameters from your first visit (utm_*, gclid, fbclid) in a first-party cookie so a later signup or purchase can be attributed to the ad that referred you. See “Cookies & advertising” below.
You do not need an account to search or scan ads. Aside from the aggregate, cookieless analytics and — only with your consent — the advertising pixels described above, we do not build a profile of the specific ads you browse.
Why we collect it
Your name and email are required to generate a valid complaint under NY S.8420-A/A.8887-B. You are the filer of record. The complaint is generated in your name and transmitted to the NY AG only when you explicitly approve it. We use your email to match your subscription status (via Stripe) and to display it pre-filled on return visits.
We store filed complaint records in Vercel Blob to provide a receipt and to support deduplication.
Where it goes
- New York Attorney General.A complaint you prepare is filed with the NY AG on the official OAG complaint form — by you directly on Free and Pro, or, on Pro Auto, by Social Intelligence Labs personnel on your behalf after you authorize it. The complaint includes your name, email, and the ad findings you reviewed. On Pro Auto, your authorized complaint is routed to our filing operations team by email (via our email processor) so a person can submit it; the AG’s response, if any, comes directly to you as the complainant.
- Stripe.Subscription and billing data is handled by Stripe. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
- Email processor. Sign-in links, alert emails, and Pro Auto filing hand-offs are sent through our transactional email provider (Resend / AWS SES).
- Meta and Google. Only if you accept advertising cookies, the Meta Pixel and Google tag / Google Ads send page-view and conversion events to Meta and Google so we can measure and attribute our ad campaigns.
- Vercel. The app is hosted on Vercel; complaint and account records are stored in Vercel Blob (US region), and first-party, cookieless Vercel Web Analytics measures aggregate usage.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share your name, email, or complaint records with advertisers or data brokers. The advertising pixels above receive only the page-view and conversion events they need to measure our own campaigns.
Cookies & advertising
We use a small number of cookies. Strictly-necessary cookies are always on; advertising cookies load only after you accept them in our consent banner, and you can decline.
- Consent choice — remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies (about 6 months).
- Sign-in session — a secure, http-only cookie that keeps you signed in (up to 90 days).
- Campaign attribution — a first-party cookie holding the utm_*, gclid, and fbclid values from your first visit (30 days), so a later signup or purchase can be credited to the referring ad.
- Advertising (consent-gated) — the Meta Pixel and Google tag / Google Ads set their own cookies to measure conversions and attribute ad spend. These load only if you accept.
Vercel Web Analytics is first-party and cookieless. You can withdraw consent or clear these cookies at any time via your browser settings.
Retention
Complaint records remain in Vercel Blob storage until you request deletion. Your email is stored in a browser cookie on your device (max-age one year) to pre-fill the filer form on return visits; you can clear it by clearing your cookies.
Requesting deletion
To delete your complaint records or have your information removed, email hello@socialintelligencelabs.com with the subject line "Compads data deletion request." We will confirm and complete the deletion within 14 days.
