What Compads does

Compads scans the Meta Ad Library (live) and the Google Ads Transparency Center (rolling out) for advertisements that appear to use AI-generated or digitally altered human performers without the disclosure required by NY S.8420-A (effective June 9, 2026). The tool uses automated, probabilistic detection and returns a confidence score for each flagged creative. Flags are not legal determinations. They are signals that warrant your review.

Your role as filer

You are the complainant and the responsible party for every complaint you make. Compads generates the complaint text; you review the flagged ad, assess the confidence score, and decide whether to file. On the Free and Pro plans you submit each complaint yourself on the official NY Attorney General form. On Pro Auto you authorize each complaint and Social Intelligence Labs submits it on your behalf — see “Managed submission (Pro Auto)” below. Either way, you are responsible for the accuracy and content of every complaint filed in your name, and nothing is submitted to the AG that you have not reviewed and authorized.

Social Intelligence Labs provides the tool. SIL is not a party to any complaint. SIL does not verify the legal sufficiency of any complaint generated.

Expressive works exemption

NY S.8420-A does not apply to advertisements or promotions for expressive works, including films, television programs, and video games, when the synthetic performer use is consistent with the work being promoted. Do not file complaints against promotions that fall within this exemption.

No warranty on detection accuracy

Detection is probabilistic. Results may include false positives (ads flagged that do not actually use synthetic performers) and false negatives (ads that use synthetic performers but are not flagged). We make no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Do not file a complaint based solely on a Compads flag without reviewing the underlying ad yourself.

Acceptable use

You may use Compads to monitor compliance with applicable disclosure laws, conduct competitive research, and audit your own brand. You may not use Compads to file frivolous or bad-faith complaints, harass advertisers, or for any purpose that violates applicable law. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the complaint workflow.

Managed submission (Pro Auto)

Pro Auto subscribers may authorize Social Intelligence Labs to submit a complaint to the NY Attorney General on their behalf. This authorization is specific to each individual filing: you authorize it by clicking submit on our platform, one filing per click. You remain the complainant of record in every case. SIL acts solely as your authorized submission agent and is not a party to the filing.

SIL files each Pro Auto complaint through the official NY Attorney General channel on your behalf. This is a managed service performed by SIL personnel using the complaint you prepared and authorized; we do not submit anything you have not reviewed and confirmed. SIL does not guarantee that the AG office will accept, act on, or respond to any complaint. Filing may take time, and the AG’s response, if any, comes directly to you as the complainant.

You remain responsible for the accuracy and content of every complaint filed in your name, whether you submit it directly or authorize SIL to submit it on your behalf.

Billing, renewal & cancellation

The Free plan is free and requires no payment method. Pro is $49 per month and Pro Auto is $79 per month. Paid plans are auto-renewing subscriptions billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically each month until cancelled. Agency plans are billed under a separate custom agreement.

You can cancel at any time from your account’s billing portal. Cancellation stops all future renewals; you retain paid access through the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and no partial-month refunds are issued for the current period except where required by law. If you cancel Pro Auto, any complaint you have already authorized and that is pending submission will still be filed; no new filings will be accepted after access ends.

We may change plan prices or features prospectively; we will give notice of a price change before it takes effect on your next renewal, and continued use after that renewal constitutes acceptance of the new price. Failed or disputed payments may result in suspension or downgrade to the Free plan.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Social Intelligence Labs, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from complaints you choose to file, your use of Compads, or your violation of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves or as applicable law changes. We will post the updated terms at this URL with a revised date. Continued use of Compads after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
